1% of Our Sales Donated to the Planet

A Year of Learning with the Kilian Jornet Foundation.

Throughout 2024, NNormal has collaborated on several initiatives with the Kilian Jornet Foundation, a partnership under the 1% For The Planet umbrella. Volunteer projects, trail restoration, and educational talks are just a few of the initiatives we’ve worked on together to highlight the vulnerability of our planet and the need to protect it through our actions.

1% For The Planet

1% For The Planet is a global network of businesses and environmental organisations working together to support the planet. All members of the network commit to donating at least 1% of their annual gross sales to environmental actions.

In NNormal’s case, this donation is entirely given to the Kilian Jornet Foundation, which works to preserve mountains and their surrounding environments. The actions organised by the foundation are divided into three main areas: research, education, and direct actions in the field. These actions help us gain greater awareness and knowledge and in 2024 they certainly enabled us to do just that.

More about 1% For The Planet

During the year, the Kilian Jornet Foundation (KJF) led numerous environmental initiatives on which NNormal was able to collaborate. One of the most outstanding projects is Restore the Trails, which invited volunteers from around the world to help restore trails and degraded areas. In 2024, four Restore the Trails events took place across the globe in iconic locations such as the Western States Endurance Run, Parc Natural de Cap de Creus, and Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca, in collaboration with Cursa Tomir. Over 60 volunteers joined in these efforts, contributing to improving and making accessible the paths that allow us to explore and enjoy these remarkable places.

In 2024, the KJF also hosted several editions of Running Minds, an initiative that combines passion for running with love for nature, attracting hundreds of people curious about science and sustainability. At each Running Minds event, the KJF partnered with experts to present relevant topics to bring science closer to the community.

The Alpine Connections project is another example of an initiative involving collaborations with research centres and scientific experts to raise awareness of the climate challenges facing the Alpine region. Together with Kilian Jornet, we explored the beauty of these areas and discussed potential future scenarios. This culminated in a live event on August 29 in Chamonix with over 80 attendees, where athletes such as Hillary Gerardi, Vivian Bruchez, Cristopher Ogier and Mireia Miró debated the impact of climate change on outdoor sports, as well as the challenges of adapting to and building resilience against these changes.

In 2024, as part of the collaboration between NNormal and the KJF, and under the umbrella of 1% For The Planet, several projects were launched that directly focused on environmental conservation and making the outdoors more accessible for everyone. These actions also fostered community building and collective action to tackle the challenges posed by climate change.

These actions have laid the foundation for continuing efforts in 2025 to preserve our mountains through community-driven action.
