Lucille embodies freedom in movement, inspiring through her trail running success and dedication to mentorship—all while embracing a holistic approach to life.

Lucille Germain is more than just a trail runner.

She’s a symbol of resilience, passion and balance. A former biathlete, Lucille’s shift to trail running was driven by a desire to reclaim her freedom “without being constrained by equipment, weather or logistics,” she explains.

Her path to this new chapter wasn’t easy. “I had a difficult last year of biathlon… I didn’t see anyone, and I counted every calorie before I ate. I was on the verge of anorexia nervosa,” she shares. “Shutting myself away in a performance bubble at the age of 18, I decided to put away my rifle in 2018, heartbroken.”

But Lucille didn’t let hardship define her. Instead, she dedicated herself to healing, and in the process, she discovered trail running in the Alps. “The simplicity of having a single pair of sneakers gave me back the desire and the taste [to compete],” she reflects.

Since then, Lucille has risen to the top of the trail running world. A two-time French Trail Championship medalist and World Champion Trail Run Team member, her accolades include 3rd place at the 2023 French Trail Championship, 3rd at the World Trail Run Championship, and victories at Madeira and Sobrescobio events. In 2024, she finished 6th overall in the Skyrunning circuit.

For Lucille, trail running is more than just race results – it’s about knowing when to let go, transformation, and pursuing greatness while being seen as more than an athlete. For her, trail running is a way of life. She finds fulfillment in the simplicity of the mountains, the freedom of movement and moments where she once sought control.

“I’m building my career stone by stone,” she says. Now, she’s committed to sharing that journey, mentoring young Nordic skiers and biathletes along the way. “I want to give back to my community, to bring them the knowledge I’ve gained, and to help young people progress in their skiing and sports," she shares.

Her minimalist approach to gear aligns with NNormal’s values for responsibility, performance, and authenticity. "I see myself in the brand's image because I love mountains and I like to spend time where I feel good," she says. She reflects the NNormal spirit and lifts up others as she chases the next finish line.
